The Oils and Their Uses
Essential oils can be used in a variety of ways.  Most people believe that you inhale the aroma, and that is basically all their is to it.  Well, move over convention! These oils have so many ways to be utilized.  You can make salves, lotions, diffusers, bath bombs, roll-ons, sprays and so many other healing, application methods.
I am going to use this blog to help you to learn about essential oils and the various methods of using your beautiful little bottles of magic.  Check in every Tuesday to learn, have fun, and experiment with your therapeutic bundles of joy.

Lavender Essential Oil and Its Uses
We are not doctors, we cannot prescribe oils for afflictions or illnesses, and we cannot diagnose any ailment.  In order to find the oil that is right for you and your problem, do some research, buy the books, google it.  But we have learned so much, that we can tell you about the therapeutic properties inherent in your essential oils.
Lavender: analgesic (works like aspirin), antibiotic, antidepressant, anti fungal, anti infectious, anti-inflammatory, anti rheumatic (fights arthritis), antispasmodic, anti venous, antiviral, bactericidal, cicatrisant, decongestant, detoxifying, disinfectant, sedative, calms anxiety.  WOW! Lavender can do all that? Yes, it can.  You can make so many healing remedies out of lavender.  Lavender is the most popular essential oil, it is relatively cheap (in comparison to many other oils) and it will do the job you want it to.
Lavender was one of the herbs listed in the bible.  It has so many uses.  I had scalded my hand pretty badly and it hurt like a mutha! I dabbed a little lavender on the burn, and the next morning, I couldn't even tell where I had burned myself at.  Magic, you ask?  No, the healing powers of lavender oil are astounding.  Lavender has been used medicinally for thousands of years.  Before big pharma took over, lavender was in every medicine cabinet.  Lavender was used as a perfume as well as medicine for centuries.
Today, we have lavender in pots on our porches where we can sit and inhale that wonderful aroma all summer long.  In order for us to get the oil from the lavender plant, the distilling process is long, difficult and tedious.  It takes acres and acres of lavender flowers to produce a single bottle of essential oil.  Lucky for us, the plant produces oil for 10 years and it is easy to grow.  The next time you want to calm down and have that contented, satisfied feeling, just grab your little bottle of lavender oil.
