HOW TO USE YOUR NEW OILS

Choosing a Recipe

Essential oils come in various brands, sizes, varieties and aromas.  It is sometimes difficult for someone new to oils to work up the courage to actually open a bottle.  Your oils are for your pleasure, healing and experimentation. I thought that since I have had so many people ask me how to use their new oils, that I would give a couple of quick recipes here that are easy, fun and beneficial.

How Do I Choose?

Choosing which essential oil to use first is easy!  Do you want calm, peace and sleep?  Or do you want energy, stamina, and some get-up-and-go?  I thought that I would give a couple recipes for either of these 2 scenarios so that you can make one for the morning and one for night.  These recipes contain the most common of essential oils to make this process easier for you.

Basic Equipment
All that you really need is some type of small container with a lid on it so that you can store it in a cool, dry area.  There are so many essential oil tools on the market today, but you can take your time in selecting what you will need for the future.  Some of my favorite tools are my roll-on bottles and my measuring cups.  You will learn what to shop for after you make a few recipes to even know what you are lacking.

Morning Energy Boost
This recipe has energy boosting components as well as anti-inflammatory, detoxifying, tonic, immune boosting, analgesic, antiseptic, anti infectious, antispasmodic and many more therapeutic properties.  So you not only get an energy boost, you also get tons of daily protection from this recipe.  I like to put this in a spray bottle.  So if you have some type of spray bottle, or even one you can empty out, just clean it very well and add the following ingredients (if not, then a small jar with a lid will work and you can just dab it where you want to):
10 drops peppermint oil
10 drops lemon oil
1/2 teaspoon witch hazle
4 ounces water
Shake the ingredients together once they are added to the bottle and spray on yourself, your room, your office, in your car, where ever you need to get that added boost.  Keep the bottle in a cool, dark area for up to 3 months. Have fun!

Nighttime Calmer
This recipe contains analgesic, antibiotic, antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, sedative, tranquilizing and nervine therapeutic properties.  It will relax you and help you get a really good night's sleep.  Just put this into a small container with a lid and keep it in a dark, dry area for up to 3 months.
5 drops chamomile oil
5 drops lavender oil
1 tablespoon carrier oil (olive oil, sesame oil, grape seed oil, or any oil you like)
Mix the ingredients together in a small jar and apply a couple of drops to temples, back of neck, soles of feet, or where ever you feel comfortable dabbing it on.  This is enough to last for several repeated applications.

Enjoy Your Oils and Preparations

Your essential oils belong to you.  As long as you heed warnings, keep out of reach of children and learn to gain the knowledge you need along the way, you should do great as an aromatherapist.  I love playing with, working with, learning about, reading about, and purchasing essential oils.  This journey in aromatherapy is one of the greatest paths I have chosen for my life.  It has brought me so much healing and joy.  I pray that you will open your bottle today and begin your own journey.
much healing to you,
thyme to work on my book,
vannoy
