!What??????

So we are so in love with our website.  It is so pretty and useful.  We are going to incorporate a lot of educational information into it about growing, using and playing with herbs.  The amount of information out there about herbs is mind boggeling.  I hope to have a concise, informative and learning section on our website and anyone can go to if they have any questions about how an herb can be used.  The timetothyme.com website will be available to anyone to go into at anytime to not just buy kits to make their own home, health and beauty products...but to learn as much as anyone could ever want to learn about them.

If anyone out there has any ideas about how to make our website better, just let us know and we will be happy to incorporate any useful ideas.  Lin called earlier today and a magazine contacted her and would like to do a feature article about our herbal products for their July issue.  I am keeping it a secret about which magazine it is until it is official.  But...... what the Butterfly????  So happy!

TTT day has ARRIVED!

Today is one of the happiest days of my life.  I am writing to you with tears streaming down my face as it has been only minutes since the launch of a 25 year dream of mine....www.timetothyme.com/  my new business with my daughter and my sister.  We are developing kits using environmentally friendly, organic, and sustainable products to help people learn how easy it is to make herbal remedies, cleaning products, tinctures, teas, shampoos, decoctions, infusions, and the list is endless.

                                                                    Lamb's Ear

Each month we will have a new kit and new products including the essential oils, herbs, jars, bottles, beeswax, etc needed to make your own products at home.  We have just had so many of our friends and family come to us through the years wanting to know how to make different remedies, products, and teas that we have used in our family for years and years.  So with a lot of thought, we came up with the first kit and now have it for sale on our website.

Hopefully our kits will help others learn to make their own products and see just how easy it really is.  It is fun, educational and somehow just feels right when you are using products from the land to help out a family member or a friend.  I hope you give it a try and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.
Thyme to go to my website and smile,

Bex's legs

I just have to say how much I LOVE that homemade laundry detergent.  It is easy to make and smells so good.  I have made some with Orange essential oil, Lavendar essential oil, Rose essential oil and Pine essential oil (for Vance).  The possiblities are limitless.  I also noticed that I haven't had to bleach my wash cloths (all white) since I began using this stuff!  Now that is a true test of its strength.  Yet, it is made with very few chemicals and mostly natural ingrediants.  I just love it.  I am on my last gallon now, so next weekend I will be making 4 more gallons (and giving 1/2 of them away).  If you haven't tried making any yet, you really should.

Sundays are sad when it hits that 4pm mark.  Time to start getting ready for the next day.  And that is so hard to do since I can't bring myself to come into the house when it starts getting cool outside.  The herbs are all flowering and it's just a joy to walk around outside.  The boys were over so we had a great game of baseball tonight.  I think Levi cheats...I'm just saying!

I made such a good veggie meal tonight.  I bought some of those Steam In bags.  They are great.  All weekend when I made salads or anything using veggies, I would just get my steam in bag out of the fridge and add a handful of onion, bell peppers, squash, whatever I had to the bag and put it back in the fridge.  Then tonight when I was ready to fry up some green tomatoes for Vance, I just threw the steam in bag in the microwave for 5 minutes, went outside and picked some Thyme and Lemon Balm and chopped them up and added to the steamed veggies...pure heaven.  I think those bags are the best things since microwave ovens.

My grandson came over last night, and apparently he got into a fire ant mound.  He had these huge bites on his legs that look infected.  You know how some kids just react so badly to ant bites? He is one of those.  So I put some salve on his bites that I had made last month, and it looks SO much better today.  He kept showing me, so I guess it feels better too.  Poor little thing.
Thyme to get ready for Monday,

Good to be Home

We went to the mountains for our family reunion...and WHAT A GOOD TIME was had by all.  We ate tons of food, drank good wine, and hiked everywhere.  My sister and I went hiking and found us some Mullein growing by a river.  We don't have any mullein growing around us, so it was a nice surprise.  Lots of wild herbs that we spied just growing along the river.  We had taken our "wild flower Identification" books with us.  We found many wild herbs and plants that we don't have here in Northeast Tx.  Such a great memorable time.

A great time was had by all and we can't wait to go back next year.

We have CHICKENS!

We have been working here at the farm to build a chicken coop for about 6 months.  We finally got it done.  I went to my neighbors house and tried to buy some chicks, but he gave me four little banties.  Great Guy!  I love him forever for my little babies.  The chicks did get out and we had to reinforce the pen, but now they are happy and have their little routines.

I have been working on a few things out of the Herb Garden this weekend.  First, after going on our family reunion, 1/2 of the family has come down with bad cases of Poison Ivy.  I have put lots of chopped up Sage into jars and covered with Apple Cider Vinegar.  This, I will shake daily and after 2 weeks I will give each family a jar of this to use in the future for their itch and pain relief.

                                                                             Sage
The other thing I am working on is an Echinacea Tincture.  I love tinctures and use them for everything.  The other night I ran into a screen door (my body was running into the house, but the door tried to stop me!) I split my eyebrow open, blood, bruising, swelling and pain.  I almost knocked myself unconcious.  I put some tincture on my eye that night and the next morning I went to work and no one even noticed that I had almost killed myself the night before! There was only one tiny little spot where the brow had split open...the bruising, swelling and pain were completely gone.  I just can't get enough of tinctures.  So I am harvestng my Echinacea for allergy season coming up in a couple of months.  Love the tinctures.

I hope you're all having a good time with your herbs, but right now it's
