BALLS OF ENERGY

ENERGY BALLS
I love making these quick little treats.  They are packed full of healing and healthy tidbits and no baking required!

Easy Recipe
The main part of this recipe requires only 3 ingredients:
2 - cups quick oats
1 - cup peanut butter
1/2 - cup honey or agave nectar

You can then add whatever little deliciousness resides in your fridge; dried fruit, nuts, seeds,  chocolate chips, etc.  I have made them differently every time….and loved them every time!  Just blend with a mixer, or a fork.

For these particular balls, I added a lot of extra powerful ingredients that I had.  All in all I must have put in an extra cup of good stuff, because I then had to add quite a bit more honey to get them to stick together.

Extras
A few of the limitless extras I added today were: coconut, dried cranberries, dates, almonds, pecans, chia seeds, flaxseed, flax meal, sunflower seeds, and finished it off with a pinch of salt.  I have one of those big mixers, so I didn't have to stir it all by hand, but I usually do stir by hand.

Making Those Balls
Then I just roll the balls into little balls, or big balls.  Depending what I am in the mood for.  If I roll them tiny, then I can have 3 or 4 a day instead of 1 or 2.  Everybody loves these, and they are so easy.  The best part besides the taste is that they can be frozen on a cookie sheet and then put into little snack baggies in the freezer.  They will keep for a week in the fridge, if you don't want to freeze them. Any time I know I am going to be away from home for more than a few hours, I grab a frozen bag and stick it in my purse. Viola! an easy healthy treat that tastes scrumptious and is surprisingly filling.  And I won't have that urge to stop and grab a taco!

They Won't Suspect
Kids love these, and have no idea how healthy they are.  The honey makes them so sweet and tasty.  The flaxseed and chia seeds have such beneficial results for the digestive system.  I hope you get a chance to make these and add your own little twist to them.  Energy balls for everyone!
Thyme to get mine out of the freezer for an experimental tasting.

Easy Steps to Balancing Your Doshas With Oils

Vata, Pitta & Kapha
Your Doshas make up your constitution, health, happiness, personality and all physical and mental states.  There are 3 doshas: vata, pitta, and kappa.  Each dosha represents various physical and mental characteristics of each and every person on Earth.  Finding out which dosha primarily rules your emotions and health is the key to a lifetime of healing.

Eastern Medicine
In Ayerveda, discovering which dosha is out of balance is the first step to healing, physically and emotionally.  Doctors ask questions about your life, take not of your physical appearance, check your pulse, and determine which dosha you need to lessen, and which dosha needs to be increased.

Vata
Vatas are primarily slim, quick, leaders, flighty, and always seem to be working on a new project.  Vatas brains work fast, and they talk fast. Vatas have very dry skin and hair. Vatas seem to have incredibly high, highs, and low, lows. Vatas have increased anxiety, worry, and fear about of things in their life.  Nervous disorders are often associated with an over abundance of vata in your system.  If you want something done, ask a vata.

Pitta
Pittas are very driven, and often to excess.  Stress is the main culprit in dealing with too much pitta.  Heart disease is prevalent in pittas due to their unnecessary stress.  Pittas are often characterized as fiery,   a great leader, judgmental, angry and organized.  Pittas often feel that others know what they are thinking and should fall in line with them.  When things don't work out, they get angry, stressed and overwork their hearts. Pittas rule the world and everyone else just follows them.

Kaphas
Kaphas tend to be overweight, lethargic, take on complicated tasks, thick hair, pale skin, steady, consistent and reliable.  Kaphas often seem dull as they affect that demeanor to protect themselves from pain.  Kaphas are not overly emotional or excitable, and this gives them the appearance to others of reliability.  Someone you can count on.  Kaphas sleep deeply, speak slowly and move through the world slowly.  But when a kappa makes a decision, it is usually after a lot of thought and deliberation.  Kaphas often have joint, digestive and water issues.

Recipe for Balance
Essential oils have been used forever to help one to balance their doshas.  When an overabundance of a
particular dosha reigns, chaos and illness follow.  Having the best components of each dosha makes us happy, healthy, well rounded individuals.  Try this recipe in your home and bring your doshas under control.

Tri-Doshic Blend

3 - drops tea tree oil
3 - drops rosemary oil
3 - drops saffron oil
1 - ounce grape seed or sesame oil
Place the essential oils into a small container.  Pour into the container the amount of carrier oil (grape seed oil, sesame oil, or any oil good for the skin) wanted.  Swirl and use to massage lightly the area desired.  Keep away from open wounds or sensitive areas. This can be repeated as needed.

Yield:  1-2 applications.  Store unused portion in a jar with a tight fitting lid, in a cool, dark area for up to one month.

Feeling Fine
Balancing our doshas is not a one time thing.  When you notice yourself getting angry too often, find out which dosha is out of balance.  If you are running your self to death with different projects, use an essential oil to help bring that vata under control.  Feeling too sluggish to complete a task?  Reign in that kappa with an essential oil bath or diet.  Knowing your doshas and learning how to balance them in your life will help you to achieve the most perfect you!

Yoga Girl and Free Eggs

WINNER: We have a winner of our ETSY: timetoherb Gift Basket.  CONGRATS to Klawson51.  Please message or email me your name and address and your gift will be on its way.

It's so cold here that I am just sitting here and getting fatter and lazier!  So I keep thinking of doing yoga, painting yoga pictures, but not getting off my butt this week to practice actual YOGA.  So hopefully once I am through with this blog, I will get right on it!  For Real.
We have been very, very busy at Time to Thyme.  We have had a LOT of internet orders off of our T3 website.  This has been so exciting for us and we are so grateful to everyone who has ordered.  Most of the orders seem to be Colleen Hoover Collection fans.  Keep on ordering Cohorts.  We love you. We are adding a new soap to this line called "Sky's Stars".  Those of you who are CoHo fans will know why we chose that name.  We have not put our Tea Line on the website yet, as we are waiting for spring.  But if anyone wants to order any Teas, just email us and we will get with you about the Teas we have available.

I have been watching that Joel Osteen preacher on TV the past month or so.  I usually watch the Veria channel, but I just don't like those morning exercise programs on there so I just have my TV on channel 4 each morning as I run around the house, and he happens to come on Sunday mornings.  Well, I just figured out why I love him so much.  He preaches "The Secret".  Seriously.  Everyone of his sermons are straight out of that book.  It's crazy.  But It's so true, everything he says.  God will give you what you claim and thank him for.  The Universe answers to either your positivity or your negativity.  I just never thought of it from a  biblical standpoint before.  So I will think positive thoughts every minute of the day. I am getting skinny.  I love Yoga.  Thank you God for my drive to do yoga everyday.  And running.  And eating healthy. And for that $8000 check I know you are sending me. Thank you for all our orders.

I want to give you all the links to order any products that you may need.  Remember on our ETSY site you get FREE shipping and handling.  I also have a bunch of eggs in my fridge, if you want some.  Just come get 'em.

Free gift for a lucky person…And some eggs!

What a cold week this has been.  I just look out the window and see my little greenhouse looking so cold and forlorn.  I really want to go play in there, but it is like 20 degrees out there!  Poor baby plants.  I have a Thyme/Lemon plant on my Kitchen table that I need to separate and plant soon so it can grow into bunches of plants for my friends this spring.  I love lemon thyme in salads and on fish.  It is just the BEST herb in the world.

I can't believe everything going on in the news.  I usually don't have to listen to much news because I am always running around, busy outside, hanging with the chickens.  But having been stuck in the house for such a long amount of time this winter, I am hearing a LOT of news.  Thats what my husband likes to watch every day over and over and over.  Alls I can say is that I need to double up on my praying for everyone and every things.  Lord, help humanity.

My chickens are doing great.  They are all laying which is surprising to me because everyone said that they won't lay much in the winter.  Well, I think they shiver them eggs right on out!  I have a lot of eggs if anyone wants any and lives close to me.  I go to sulphur springs a lot and can just bring some eggs right to your door!

well, I do have an announcement.  I have this wonderful gift basket full of wonderful Time to thyme products such as lip balm, Aroma Sprays, Handmade GoatsMilk Soap and lots of other goodies.  In order to win this just follow these directions.  We will randomly choose a name once we reach 100 likes on our Etsy page.
Simply go to Etsy and search our store at timetoherb.  Favorite an item and we will announce the winner on FaceBook.
Thanks,
Thyme to get everything ready to mail you your gift,

If you're happy and you know it….

I'm happy, yes I am.  This week we sold our old store in Canton on the mountain.  We are able to put that money into our new store and our online website at timetothyme.com.  We also opened an ETSY store.  For those of you who have never perused Etsy, I urge you to do so.  It is an awesome site where you can go and order those one-of-a-kind handmade gifts.  This site is designed specifically for people who are crafty and like to make stuff, but have no where to sell it.  If you make anything from Art to Afghans, this is a place that you can easily set up a store and sell your products to the world.  How amazing is that??? They have some very interesting stuff and some downright CRAZY stuff on there.  Some times I just have to SMH.
This has been a year full of ups and downs in my life.  Many more ups than downs. I got to retire from my social work job, do a little traveling, watch both my children find their purpose in life and have a store to sell the products I love to make…namely herbal remedies and soap!  There is nothing more satisfying than making something that somebody else will love and use.  Oh yeah, and I also made a personal store to sell my Art!  Here is a painting I finished today.
I haven't titled this yet, not even sure it is finished.  I had to put it aside to go and make some soap for some AWESOME ladies who ordered off of our website today.  Life is so good…So good!

I have a new little Silky puppy.  She is 5 months old, and she is such a joy to me.  I am unable to travel much anymore due to duties I now have at home, but she makes being in the house all of the time so much more bearable.  Except for the poop….aaahhh, the poop.  When it is cold, she will NOT go outside.  She is a pistol, she sure is.
but how can you get mad at a face like this? Precious little baby girl.  I named her "Mala", an homage to the mala beads I use to pray with everyday about how thankful I am for this strange, beautiful, weird, crazy life I lead.
I just want to end this blog by saying thank you to everyone who has placed orders with us this last year and to also let anyone who has not seen our sites the opportunity to get there and browse.  On Etsy you can look up either "timetoherb" or "ZenYogaArt" to look at our sites.  I am in love with them and look at them every hour! LOL  Our website is timetothyme.com. I'm such a happy girl.
thyme to play with Mala,
